Carol Brodie is a jewelry and accessories designer, gem connoisseur, stylist, curator, television personality, writer and influencer. Dubbed “The Queen of Diamonds” by Kiplinger, Brodie is all about golden, goddess glamour.
Carol’s impressive and enviable career has literally been paved in diamonds. From her early beginnings as a spokeswoman for De Beers diamonds to directing global communications for Harry Winston and then serving as the world’s first Chief Luxury Officer for Robb Report magazine (and a multitude of titles targeted at the uber wealthy), Carol Brodie has influenced the world’s most prestigious brands beyond compare with her larger than life energy, passion, authenticity and charisma.
An entrepreneur at her core, Carol designed and handcrafted her own professional success. From age 14, Carol spent Sundays at the local flea market buying bags of sweatshirts, glitter, paint, crystals, studs and lace. She became obsessed with creating “flash dance” inspired hand-made glittering sweatshirts which she sold to trendy shops on Long Island’s gold coast.
Rather than pursuing a career in fashion and design (her father encouraged her to study at the Fashion Institute of Technology), she chose to study marketing and communications at Boston University. A few years after graduating, she traveled bi-weekly to LA, bejeweling movie stars for the most celebrated red-carpet events. From Michael Jackson and Prince, to Gwyneth, Halle, Kate and Reese, Carol has decked out Hollywood’s biggest stars in diamonds for the Oscars, Emmy’s, Tony’s and Golden Globes.
As a result of her celebrity styling and access to a treasure trove of Harry Winston diamonds, Carol became a sought after media personality appearing as a style and jewelry expert on The Today Show, Good Morning America, CBS This Morning, Entertainment Tonight, Access Hollywood, Inside Edition, Extra, Today in New York, CNBC, CNN, Martha Stewart Weddings, E! , The Bachelor and numerous other shows and publications.
Carol has always believed that if you can dream it, you can do it. It was therefore no surprise when in 2009, Carol’s vision of ultimately hosting her own talk show came to fruition. Today, Rarities Fine Jewelry with Carol Brodie - the Home Shopping Network (HSN) brand that bears her name – is one of the most successful jewelry lines to ever appear on a television shopping channel. Her empowering messaging, profound expertise and extensive knowledge of gemstones, provenance and design, have made Carol's ‘Rarities Girls’ feel like friends and tune in each time she graces the HSN stage.
In September of 2020, Carol launched Carol Brodie, a contemporary collection of bold, gold jewelry accented with genuine gemstones. Art deco inspired demi-fine designs are influenced by the jewels that Carol has amassed throughout her lifetime. Her admiration for David Webb, Buccelati, Bvlgari and deco design is evident in her aesthetic.
Of course, Carol’s most favorite gems (she’s held many, including the Hope Diamond and the Dresden Green) have been and will always remain her sons, Noah and Grant. Her boys, family and rescue dog BEAN keep Carol Brodie sparkling like a diamond.
